A Holistic State Equation for Timed Petri Nets
نویسندگان
چکیده
Timed Petri nets (TPN) or Duration Petri nets (DPN) is a well-know approach to extend “classic” Petri nets in order to allow the modeling of time [1]. In [2], a state equation for TPN was provided that describes the net’s marking in an algebraic manner, but not its transitions clocks. Hence, proofing the nonreachability of a marking is mainly done by symbolic manipulation of the state equation, which is impractical for the automated generation of such proofs. Here, we introduce a holistic state equation that allows for modeling the clocks algebraically in addition to markings and thus provides a more automatical way to show the nonreachablity of specific markings.

A rule-based evaluation of ladder logic diagram and timed petri nets for programmable logic controllers
This paper describes an evaluation through a case study by measuring a rule-based approach, which proposed for ladder logic diagrams and Petri nets. In the beginning, programmable logic controllers were widely designed by ladder logic diagrams. When complexity and functionality of manufacturing systems increases, developing their software is becoming more difficult. Thus, Petri nets as a high l...
متن کاملUsing Interval Petri Nets and Timed Automata for Diagnosis of Discrete Event Systems (DES)
A discrete event system (DES) is a dynamic system that evolves in accordance with the abrupt occurrence, at possibly unknown irregular intervals, of physical events. Because of the special nature of these systems, different tools are currently used for their analysis, design and modeling. The main focus of this paper is the presentation of a new modeling approach of Discrete Event Systems. The ...
متن کاملState Equation for Interval-Timed Petri Nets
Timed Petri Nets (also called Duration Petri Nets, DPNs) [7, 8] are a commonly used class for modeling formally complex technical systems as embedded real time systems, for instance in aeronautics. Engineers stated that intervals allowing some variable duration of events would be a more realistic view, so Interval-Timed Petri Nets (ITPNs) have been proposed as generalizations in [2]. Hierarchic...
متن کاملLinearly Unbounded Timed Petri Nets in Modelling and Performance Evaluation
Linearly unbounded timed Petri nets are free-choice place/transition nets with exponentially distributed firing times associated with transitions of a net, in which the infinite state space is generated by a finite set of linear equations. This linear description can be used for reduction of the infinite state space into an equivalent finite representation that can easily be solved for stationa...
متن کاملInterval-Timed Petri Nets with Auto-concurrent Semantics and their State Equation
In this paper we consider Interval-Timed Petri nets (ITPN), an extension of Timed Petri nets in which the discrete time delays of transitions are allowed to vary within fixed intervals including possible zero durations. These nets will be analyzed for the first time under some maximal step semantics with auto-concurrency. This matches well with the reality of time critical systems which could b...
